About the Role

New Business Manager (Fire Protection)
Location: Hertford Office-based, (with travel to clients as required)
Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:00 (42.5 hours/week)
Contract: Permanent, with a 6-month probation period
Reports to: Sales Director
Salary: £37,500 – £45,000 base + uncapped commission & bonuses
On-Target Earnings (OTE): £70,000 – £100,000+

Role Overview
We’re looking for a Midlands-based New Business Manager to join our expanding fire protection team. Working remotely with regional travel, you’ll be responsible for generating new business opportunities, driving revenue, and promoting our high-quality fire safety services across the UK.

This is a high-impact role with clear financial reward—our top-performing business development team members are earning six-figure incomes annually. You’ll be supported by a dynamic head office team and provided with the tools to succeed, including access to innovative systems and ongoing professional development.

Key Responsibilities
Source and secure new business across passive fire protection services and solutions.

Produce accurate and competitive proposals, tenders, and quotes.

Collaborate with the marketing team on campaigns and new service launches.

Manage sales activity and pipeline through CRM systems (e.g. HubSpot).

Share feedback to support product, operational, and commercial improvement.

Stay informed about industry developments, safety standards, and regulations.

Represent the company at client meetings, site visits, and industry events.

Act with professionalism and integrity in all external communications and negotiations.

Commission & Bonus Structure
Our generous commission plan is designed to reward sustainable and profitable growth:

Contracts: Earn 5% annually for the full duration of each contract sold at target margins.

Projects & Remedial Work: 3% one-off payment on qualifying work.

Subcontracted Work: 3% commission at target margins.

Fire Door Remedials: 1–3% depending on margin achieved.

Quarterly Bonus Club: Earn between £333 and £2,500 quarterly by exceeding targets by 10–30%.

OTE: £70,000–£100,000+ (with multiple team members already exceeding six figures annually).

What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
Background in fire protection or a related construction sector (e.g., fire doors, fire dampers, compartmentation).

Proven experience meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Strong relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.

Confident working independently with a self-starter attitude.

Proficiency in using CRM and business tools (e.g., HubSpot, MS Office).

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.

Desirable Experience
Direct experience in passive fire protection sales.

Understanding of UK fire safety legislation and technical standards.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
